President Terms Farah Attack as Genocide

President Hamid Karzai termed the suicide attack in the center of Farah province as genocide that killed and injured many innocent fellow citizens.

According to Farah Governor’s Office, seven suicide bombers dressed as Afghan soldiers carried a mass suicide attack nearby Farah Appeals Court and Prosecutor’s Office, killing more than 42 innocent citizens while injuring nearly 100 others.

Denouncing the brutal attack in strongest possible terms, the President said, “Once again, terrorists shed the blood of our innocent people who went as individuals to local institutions for their work in Farah province.”

President Karzai called attacks on innocent people and civilian targets, acts perpetrated by the enemies of Afghanistan to serve foreign evil objectives, saying that the perpetrators would be accountable to the nation for the killings and be plagued by a painful torment from Almighty God.

The President added the Afghan nation would not leave this genocide and massacre of Muslims by the Taliban, unanswered.

During a telephone conversation with Farah governor, President Karzai remarked that a delegation would be sent tomorrow to probe into the incident and to immediately help the families of the victims.

The President offers heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, prays for their enduring forbearance and wishes rapid recovery for the wounded.
