British Soldier Died in Afghanistan

The British Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that British soldier from 1st Battalion the Mercian Regiment was injured in the Nad-e Ali area of Helmand province on Monday.

It said the soldier was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

According to the latest figures released by the website icasualties.org, 3,271 foreign soldiers, including a total of 441 British troops, have been killed in Afghanistan since the US-led war began in October 2001.
