To review the security situation and the fourth stage of transferring the security responsibilities, Secretary of Defence visited Herat.
According to Najibi, the spokesman of Afghan 207 Zafar battalion in western Afghanistan, the most important issues that will be discussed in the minister of defence trip is the security situation and finding solution for the problems of army in the West Zone and the beginning of the fourth round of transferring security responsibilities to local forces.
Expressing gratification of first, second and third round of transferring security to Afghan authorities, the minister of defence emphasized on security transition in Herat during his meeting with the official of West Zone army.
According to the Minister of National Defence, Afghan security forces are responsible for over 70 percent of the security of the country.
Mohammadi called lack of security forces and equipments are the only security challenges of Herat.
Minister of National Defence also visiting with people, ethnic elders pledged that their security issues will be brought to Afghanistan Cabinet to take constructive measures.

This is the second trip of Bismillah Mohammadi to Herat this year because of security concerns. His last trip to this province is due to Herat people strike following kindnapping skyrocketing.
