Kabul University Hosts Turkish Students

Forty Turkish students have enrolled at the Kabul University to obtain their bachelors degree. Minister of Higher Education Ubaidullah Ubaid said the high quality of teaching in educational institutions in Afghanistan has attracted many students from the region and the world.

“The admission of Turkish students in our university will strengthen our relations with Turkey, and at the same time it indicates the enhancing education quality of Afghanistan that has attracted these students to study in our country.”

The students will study for five years at no cost in the Islamic Studies, Science, Dari Literature, English Language and Turkish Language departments.

“I have been in Afghanistan for six months now. I am happy to be here. I have taken this step to strengthen the friendship between the nations,” said one of the students from Turkey.

According to the officials, a number of other countries have also proposed to send their students to Afghanistan for higher education.

Meanwhile, Minister Ubaid expressed his concerns about the thousands of Afghans who failed to get into Kabul University this year.

Of the 175,000 students who took the board examination only 56,000 of them received admission to the Kabul University
