Quake Hits Myanmar

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale has struck Myanmar but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake hit at 20:04 GMT on Saturday at a depth of 33.80 kilometers. The tremor was at 23.1037 degrees north latitude and 95.9502 degrees east longitude.

Initial reports by China Earthquake Networks Center had put the magnitude of the quake at 5.6 on the Richter scale with the epicenter at a depth of 63 kilometers.
