On Tuesday, President Karzai spoke about political issues particularly about the peace process as a part of his speech in the 3rd national conference on water resources development and management of Afghanistan.
He remarked that foreigners are plotting to intervene the peace process and take it`s control for their interests.
President Karzai said any action regarding the peace talks with Taliban must happen through the Afghan government and also he called on all politicians and influential elements not to participate in any meetings of negotiation which Afghan government has not participated.
This is done while during past months different proceedings have been made from different sides seemed grounding for negotiations with militants to merge them with government and political process in the country.
The meeting in Paris, meetings held by UN and other proceedings made by foreign countries regarding the peace talks are those of which Afghan government did not took part and may could be what Karzai mentioned.
President Karzai added in order to which Afghanistan appears as a united and powerful nation after a decade of war, the leadership of the peace talks must happen by Afghans not foreign troops.
Karzai said some countries contacted with some Afghan powerful politicians asked them to take part in peace talks in a way other than the Afghan High Peace Council.
Yet president Karzai has accused foreigners specially the Americans which they try to go on with peace process without Afghan government. The peace talks between US and Taliban stopped as result of what Taliban called it the US unclear position.
President Karzai emphasized on the reopening of the Qatar office during his visit from United States to continue the peace talks and also now US wants more and effective actions about reopening of the Qatar office.
Victoria Nuland the spokeswoman of the US Department of State stated that President Karzai accepted that a specific address is required for Taliban in order to perform peace talks with them through this address.
Parwiz Musharaf the former Pakistani president said in his speech that peace and stability in Afghanistan need the support of Pakistan. He made it clear that Pakistan can play a main role in any activity proposed for stabilizing Afghanistan. It will be harmful for Afghanistan and the region if Pakistan is neglected in any attempts for stability in Afghanistan.
As it is obvious, the affairs of Afghanistan are very complicated and inevitably different countries are involved in affairs of Afghanistan.
From one side neighboring countries and other countries of the world from the other interfere in Afghanistan and it makes it difficult for Afghanistan to steer any activity like peace talks.
This which Karzai want the peace talks be led by Afghan government is ideal and is necessary for the country`s national sovereignty but it is needed to see what effective attempts have been made by government and are these attempt and efforts made because of a national program approach or they are just political tactics for a short period of time.
